Question: | For past few days, I am feeling twitching in my left arm. Sometimes I experience numbness in my forearms that eventually goes away. I notice that twitching is more when I am sitting or relaxing. Since last two-three weeks my life has been very stressful. This new problem is annoying me a lot. What should I do? Should I seek medical assistance? |
Answer: | Muscle twitching or fasciculation occurs due to various reasons. They may be the benign or can be caused due to some serious disease related to the nervous system (rare).
Muscle twitching may occur after a prolonged stress. Body reacts to stress and depression just not in emotional way but also in physical way. During the resting phase after the stress, tense muscles may result in muscle twitching.
The effective treatment in this case can be reduction of anxiety and stress. Try to have healthy diet especially rich in magnesium (like almond and bananas). If you feel very worried, you may consult a doctor. |
