Question: | I wake up with a blocked nose and often feel blocked up after a meal. Is this an allergy? |
Answer: | It' s highly likely. Excessive mucus is an inflam-matory-and thus allergic-reaction, probably to something you ate the night before. The top two suspects are wheat and milk, the two foods that trigger the most allergies. Avoid both for 10 days and notice what happens.
During this time it' s best to avoid alcohol too.
A few drinks at night, espe-cially beer and wine, can also leave you feeling blocked up in the morning. If you' re still blocked up after the 10-day period, try to locate the real culprit by doing the same avoidance test with the foods you eat most of, one by one. |
