Question: | I' ve heard soya contains high levels of aluminium. Is this true? |
Answer: | Processed soya products can contain aluminium as they are often stored or processed in aluminium tanks. But this will not always result in high aluminium levels, any more than in any other processed food.
So I don' t recommend avoiding soya, and missing out on all the other benefits, such as balancing hormones, staving off cancer and lowering cholesterol, unless you know you have a problem with high aluminium levels.
To save yourself unnecessary worry, you could have a hair mineral analysis done which will show you whether or not you have a high aluminium level. I' ve seen over 5,000 such tests and haven' t noticed a link between aluminium and soya consumption. |
