Question: | I' m always tired and feel even worse if I exercise. Is this ME? |
Answer: | These are classic signs of ME, now known as chronic fatigue syndrome, and indicate that your body is having a problem detoxifying the normal toxins generated when it turns food into energy. This is why you feel excessively tired-after exercise and probably feel bad if you eat too much, especially of less healthy food.
You need to improve your detox potential by following a liver cleansing diet for two weeks, as well as taking supplements that help to cleanse the system. For the first week this means eating lots of fresh fruit, vegetables and whole-foods such as rice, beans, fish and the like, and staying completely off meat, dairy products, wheat, tea, coffee and alcohol. The best vegetables to eat are broccoli, Brussels sprouts, cabbage, kale and cauliflower, all of which contain substances called glucosinolates that help to support the liver. Also good are carrots, tomatoes, sweet potatoes
and other orange-colored foods that are rich in beta-carotene. Be sure, too, to supplement a good high-strength multivitamin and an antioxidant complex. |
