Question: | Do vitamins in skin creams really do any good? |
Answer: | Your skin is quite capable of absorbing substances from the outside in (think of hormone or nicotine patches), although the form of the vitamin used is key to how well this happens and whether it actually helps. Certain forms of vitamins are susceptible to damage when put on your skin and exposed to oxygen; for example, vitamin C as ascorbic acid is much less stable than ascorbyl palmitate. Most reputable companies formulate the vitamins so that they are in a stable form. |
