Question:What' s your view on cranberry?
Answer:Cranberries are much more than a garnish for the Christmas turkey. They have long been used as a traditional remedy for any bladder infections, especially by women suffering from cystitis. Now scientists have pinpointed a substance in cranberries called hippuric acid, which acidifies urine, making it more difficult for bacteria to survive, and also tougher for stones to form in the bladder or kidneys. Other substances in cranberries, proanthocyanidins, prevent bacteria from sticking to the urinary tract. So cranberries are great news, but not in just any form: most cranberry juices are laden with sugar, which isn' t good for the immune system. So go for a pure powder extract of cranberry, which you can add to filtered water.
