Question:I suffered a head injury 25 years ago and was in a coma for a month. I still have learning, memory and attention problems. What do you suggest?
Answer:For all these conditions, I recommend a combination of amino acids and herbs to stimulate memory and sharpen the mind; phospholipids, which are abundant in lecithin granules (sprinkle a tablespoon on your morning cereal each day); and omega-3 fish oil (aim to get l.OOOmg of EPA/DHA, so take about three to four capsules a day, depending on the amount each capsule contains). In addition, a good antioxidant will help to protect the brain from oxidation - the damage caused by pollution and internal biochemical processes. The best brain food formulas provide phospholipids such as phosphatidyl serine and choline, plus DMAE and pyroglutamate, as well as gingko biloba.
