Question: | My hair seems to be falling out on my right side. I take Pritor and Zocor for blood pressure and cholesterol and I use a lot of hair spray. Any advice, please? |
Answer: | If the hair on only one side of your head is affected, it is not going to be due to the use of any medication (which would affect the whole body and both sides of the head equally), and also unlikely to be due to you use of hair spray, unless this is sprayed far more on one side of the head than the other (which is a possibility, depending on your hairstyle and using one hand more than the orher to apply the spray).
More likely is the possibility that the blood or nerve supply to one side of the scalp is not as good as the other. This may be due to hardening and narrowing of the arteries to the scalp with cholesterol deposits (you already know that you have this problem), or pinching of a nerve, in the neck or temple, that supplies only one side of the head.
Another possibility is a fungal infection that is attacking one side of the head more than the other.
You need to have your problem investigated properly to determine the correct cause.
