| Answer: | A slight sideways curve in the penis when it is erect is not unusual, and should not in any way interfere with normal sexual activity. A slight upward curve in the erect penis is totally normal. An injury to the penis may cause scarring on one side and a significant curve. This could be corrected by plastic surgery. Unless the curve is quite severe, all you require is a large dose of reassurance.
If you are still concerned, trace the outline of your penis on a piece of paper when it is erect. You can then take this to your own doctor to demonstrate to him the extent of the problem. Your doctor will not laugh at you, and you should not be embarrassed to discuss this further because doctors are used to dealing with very personal problems in a totally sincere and confidential manner.
