Question: | Why would 1 get eczema on my chest from ironed shirts but not drip-dry shirts? |
Answer: | The most likely explanation is contact dermatitis. When ironed, your shirts may be sprayed with a product that makes ironing easier and more effective. Your skin may be reacting to one of the components of this spray.
As a first step, I would check ensure rhat no sprays are used when your shirts are ironed. If the dermatitis settles, you have your answer. Different products contain different chemicals, and it may be that your shirts can be ironed in future with a different type of spray. The other possible cause is a synthetic material that may be in some shirts but not others. As a last resort, see a doctor when the rash is bad, to have it identified.
