Symptoms of Funnel Web Spider Bite The bite is intensely painful, and the victim will usually be frightened and distressed. Further symptoms include tingling around the mouth, muscular spasm or weakness, excessive sweating, profuse salivation, nausea, abdominal pain, numbness, coughing up of secretions from the lungs, weeping eyes, cold shivers and breathing difficulty. |
Tests for Funnel Web Spider Bite None normally necessary, but swabs may be taken from the bite site for venom identification. |
Treatment for Funnel Web Spider Bite Keep the victim calm and move them as little as possible, apply pressure immobilization to the limb and get medical help as soon as possible. Check the victim' s breathing and pulse regularly, and give mouth-to-mouth resuscitation if breathing stops, and cardiopulmonary resuscitation if the pulse stops. An effective antivenin injection is available.
