Causes of Kawasaki Syndrome Unknown. Not contagious. |
Symptoms of Kawasaki Syndrome Babies are lethargic, develop high fevers, inflamed mouth, widespread rash, conjunctivitis, enlarged lymph nodes in the neck, artery inflammation and damage, and redness and peeling of the skin on the hands and feet. Patients may also have diarrhea and heart artery complications. |
Tests for Kawasaki Syndrome Blood tests show abnormalities but are not diagnostic. |
Treatment for Kawasaki Syndrome None effective. Aspirin for inflammation.

Complications of Kawasaki Syndrome of its treatment Serious heart complications occur in 30% of survivors. |
Likely Outcome of Kawasaki Syndrome Fatal in 3% of cases. Others have a prolonged illness. |
