Type 2B: cancer of the thyroid gland in the neck, a high blood pressure producing tumor of the adrenal glands on top of the kidneys (phaeochromocytoma), Marfan syndrome, and abnormal nerve growth (neuromas) in the mouth, nose, intestine and other areas where a moist membrane lines a body cavity (see separate entries). |
